The whole team at Blaze Entertainment is delighted to bring you Tomb Raider Collection 1 this week in our physical Evercade Cartridge format! In April when we announced we were bringing the first three Tomb Raider games in their original console form to our family of cartridges and the Evercade/Super Pocket consoles, we’re sure there was a double take from many people just discovering what we do. But for those people already part of the Evercade fanbase it was the culmination of everything many fans had hoped for.

At Evercade, we bring some of the best retro games, undiscovered gems, and modern indie titles into a physical collection that works on our console systems. The idea is to give you that nostalgia of getting home, excitedly opening up a new game box, smelling that fresh print smell from a manual, leafing through it while you wait to play, and just getting stuck in with no fuss or difficult setup.

Bringing Tomb Raider and Crystal Dynamics into our license partnership circle is incredible. Not just because we’re a British company and Lara Croft for many of us was a cultural icon in the 90s and 00s, but because we, like so many others around the world, love these games.

They represent a massive shift in the gaming landscape that is still felt today. 3D adventure, exotic landscapes, and that all-important third-person view became oft replicated but rarely bettered. The origins of the Tomb Raider games became synonymous with quality storytelling and high-adrenaline action, along with challenging puzzles and entertaining gameplay.

Right now, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring you the first three games from the Tomb Raider series in this first collection and we hope you enjoy them. If the response of our fans, journalists, and gaming influencers is to be believed, you’re going to have a wonderful time revisiting Lara’s adventures in a new format.
