Evercade Releases Tomb Raider IV & V Today

Apr 25, 2025

From Andrew Byatt, CEO of Blaze Entertainment Ltd.

The team at Evercade is delighted to be partnering with Crystal Dynamics again to bring the next collection of Tomb Raider games to our physical cartridge retro gaming platform. If you missed us last year, then check out the blog post we made last year that will tell you all about our retro gaming system!

The response to the first collection of Tomb Raider 32-bit CD games was incredible and we love that not only the Evercade community but also the Tomb Raider fans all joined in to make that release very special.

And so, we’re back! This time we’re bringing the last two 32-bit CD games from the Classic Era of Lara Croft’s adventures to Evercade - Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider: Chronicles. These original versions of the games have the same tweaks we made to enable them to play better on modern displays but are otherwise the original 32-bit CD games that closed out the latter part of the 20th Century and continued the phenomenal rise of the Tomb Raider series.

We have made one big addition to these original releases: a bonus level! We’re sure many of you will know about the playable bonus level of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation that was released with The Times newspaper in the UK. Prior to this year, this was only available on PC from that disc release. With the recent release of the Tomb Raider 4-6 Remasters, the level has been remastered and included within that collection. But we wanted to have our own take on this as well.

So, we’ve ported the entire level from its PC origins into the 32-bit console engine that Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation uses, making this the first time ever the bonus level has had the original game treatment. It’s a really exciting way to experience this extra level and is selectable from the in-game menu of The Last Revelation - completely incorporated into the game experience.

Tomb Raider Collection 2 is available now, and if you missed it the first time around, Tomb Raider Collection 1 is still available individually or bundled with the Evercade EXP-R and VS-R hardware. Since that time we’ve also released the Evercade Alpha bartop arcade meaning you can even play these classic era Tomb Raider games on an arcade machine!

We’d like to thank Crystal Dynamics again for working with us for these Tomb Raider releases and the other franchises we’ve been able to bring to physical cartridges. If you’re an Evercade fan, a Tomb Raider fan or just curious about how the classic era was originally played these amazing titles are waiting to be uncovered once more by adventurers young and old.
